About Us

Roger Willey founded the first private asbestos testing laboratory in Scotland in May 1978 offering analysis, air testing and expert advice on asbestos related problems. Since then Roger has diversified his interests considerably and has held the distinguished roles of a former Board Member of Scottish Natural Heritage; a Founder Member and Trustee of Renfrewshire Enterprise Trust; Chairman of the Appeals Committee of ENTRUST (who administer the landfill tax); former Advisor to the Secretary of State for Scotland on Sustainable Development (1995 to 1999); Past President of the IOSH West of Scotland branch; and member of the IOSH National Professional Affairs Committee for 3 years. He was also responsible for setting up the Centre for Environmental and Waste Management (CEWM) at the University of Paisley, where he subsequently completed two very successful terms of three years as Chief Executive and was personally responsible for establishing NEBOSH courses and the first MSc Course in Scotland in Safety Management.

Although Roger only established ACS in 1997, he has used his 26 years of professional experience to develop a full range of services in consultancy, training and advice in general Health & Safety, Environmental and Waste Management, including the more specialised areas of Asbestos Management, Expert Witness, Workplace & Environmental Monitoring, Noise and Hand Arm Vibration and Fire Safety.
